
We can imagine the moment when Lao Tzu left his ancient kingdom during the warring states period of 6th century BC in China and a soldier asked him if he could write him a book on how to live life. Hence Lao Tzu began the writing of his famous book “Tao Te Ching.” Original is 18 x 24 in.

“Flowers” was a painting assignment I did in art college many years ago. I had planned to paint over it to reuse the canvas however family and friends around me liked it and encouraged me to keep it. Personally I thought it was cliche but that’s the paradox of creating art. What you think is great work no one likes and what you don’t like everyone around you loves. Original is 30 x 40 in.

The celebration of music tends to be hyper glamorized and stylized. Forgotten are the countless bands that no one heard about who made music simply for the love of making music. I once had neighbors who had random bands practice music in their basement. Some of it was surprisingly good. Original is 24 x 30 in.
